Alex Poe

Alex has been providing his clients expertise in strategic tax planning, multi-state and general tax compliance services, as well as business consulting for over 15 years. Alex’s career began at KPMG where he developed a vast knowledge consulting international executives and many Multi-National Fortune 50 Firms. After over 10 years at KPMG Alex brought his talents to Portland and KBF CPAs. Alex brings a wealth of knowledge regarding individual tax practices, cross-border policies, compliance issues, and tax standards. Alex regularly assists clients with the preparation of U.S. income tax returns, including all states that have an individual income tax, stock compensation planning, Report of Foreign Bank and Financial Accounts (FBAR), Tax Equalization Calculations, gift planning strategies, charitable giving strategies, and powers of attorneys for tax and financial decision making.

The majority of Alex’s clients are referred to him by other professionals and current clients who have come to rely on him for providing outstanding tax planning and preparation at a reasonable cost. As Senior Manager and NW Practice Leader at KBF, Alex focuses on assisting clients with the intricacies of individual tax compliance and growing KBF’s Private Client Services.

Alex holds a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Accounting from the David Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah. He currently co-leads the KBF Practice Development Team, and has been instrumental in the implementation of new Customer Relationship Management platform for the KBF leadership team. Alex serves in multiple community involvement roles, including the American Lung Association Leadership Board and the Boy Scouts of America.

Alex was born and raised in Portland, OR, attending Lake Oswego High School. He and his wife, Jessica, were married in 2002, and have three children. Alex lives in Canby, Oregon and is an avid Disc Golfer and a member of the Professional Disc Golf Association.
