Debbie is joining KBF as an Employment Tax Services Consultant where she will focus on growing and developing our Employment Tax Services practice. Debbie is a firmwide resource and will assist clients in all of the markets KBF serves.
Debbie was previously a Managing Director at Ernst & Young LLP’s Employment Tax Services Group and has deep knowledge of U.S. employment tax and information reporting issues. Her experience includes U.S. employment reporting and withholding, expatriate technical compliance, inpatriate technical compliance, information reporting, audit representation and worker classification.
Debbie has been a speaker at national and local chapter meetings of the American Payroll Association; the University of Denver Graduate Program’s Annual Tax Institute; the St. Louis Chapter of International Accounts Payable Professionals, Relocation Taxes; and the Employment Taxes Committee panels of the American Bar Association Section of Taxation.

We are excited to announce the addition of Priyanka Shah, Tax Manager, to KBF in the Seattle Corporate Tax Services group. Priyanka will be working from her home office in Dallas, TX.
Priyanka started her career with Deloitte Tax in New York in 2012 and moved to EY in 2014. She has more than 7 years of public accounting experience with both publicly and privately held companies. Most recently, Priyanka worked at SCOA (Sumitomo Corporation of America) where she managed the tax provision and tax compliance. Priyanka’s experience and skills fit squarely in KBF’s core services to our corporate tax clients and will contribute greatly to our growing Pacific Northwest practice.Read More

Jie Shao is joining KBF as an International Tax Director, where she will be focused on growing and developing our Corporate Tax Services practice. Jie is a firmwide resource and will be assisting clients in all of the markets KBF serves.
Jie has 17-years of public accounting experience in U.S. corporate income tax accounting, compliance, and consulting services, with a focus in the international tax area. Her experience includes significant work in U.S. international tax reporting, strategic planning, U.S. tax reform planning and modeling surrounding GILTI, subpart F, FTC, FDII, and BEAT, and assessment of relevant income tax accounting implications.
Jie started her career with Deloitte Tax LLP in 2003, later spent five years in the Deloitte China practice in Shanghai, China. Jie returned to the U.S. in late 2017 and joined PricewaterhouseCoopers. Jie has broad experience in advising both publicly and privately held multinational companies in a variety of industries, including manufacturing, consumer products, pharmaceutical research, information technology, chemical, construction, investment banking, etc.Read More
KBF’s Portland Office Adds Jake Hoesly to its CTS Practice and Rob Buchan to its Accounting, Audit, and Advisory Practice

Jake is joining our Portland Office, where he will be focused on further growing and developing our Corporate Tax Services practice.
Jake has an extensive background in public accounting with both public and privately held companies across a variety of industries, including SaaS, media and entertainment, technology, bioscience, construction, and manufacturing. Jake comes to us from EY, where he spent nearly five years serving a broad range of multi-national companies up and down the West Coast. Prior to EY, Jake spent time in industry with Precision Castparts Corp., and began his public accounting career in Portland with TKW. He has substantial experience with ASC 740 tax accounting and corporate tax compliance.
Jake will focus on assisting and advising clients through complex tax accounting matters and providing support for tax planning, consulting, and compliance needs.
Outside of work, Jake enjoys watching his four kids’ soccer and basketball games, as well as weekend excursions to camp and hike with his wife, Jenny, and the rest of the crew.

Rob joins us in our Portland Office, where he will be focused on further growing and developing our Accounting, Audit, and Advisory practice.
Rob has a deep background in public accounting with both public and non-public clients across a variety of industries, including technology, manufacturing, and forest products. He started his career at KPMG in Portland, where he primarily served publicly traded technology and manufacturing companies for fourteen years, as well as non-public companies ranging in size from pre-revenue to annual sales in excess of $1B. He has extensive experience in dealing with SEC reporting, SOX compliance, and technical areas including business combinations, share-based payments, and revenue.
Rob will focus on assisting and advising clients through complex accounting transactions and providing support for acquisitions, audits, financing transactions, and operational needs. He is based in Portland but will be spending time in all of our markets.
Outside of work, Rob enjoys hiking and traveling (primarily to Montana) with this wife, Danielle, and daughter, Olivia.
