Troy joined KBF as a State and Local Tax Director where he will be focused on growing and developing the sales/use tax practice. Troy is a firmwide resource and will be assisting clients in all of the markets KBF serves.
Troy has over 15 years of public accounting experience where he has consulted on state and local taxes with a variety of companies ranging in size from the Fortune 100 to entrepreneurial start-ups. He has extensive experience assisting and advising clients on sales/use tax matters including: nexus and exposure reviews, voluntary disclosures, audit defense and appeals, refund reviews, as well as technical research and tax planning.
Troy has spent the majority of his career working for Grant Thornton LLP. However, he has also spent time working in the internal tax department for the national electronics retailer Best Buy. During his time at Best Buy, Troy was responsible for sales tax research and planning for the company’s new business initiatives.]
Troy is a Certified Public Accountant who holds a Masters of Science degree in Accountancy from University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Wisconsin – Madison.
