Jeff has more than 30 years of public accounting experience. Jeff is a founding partner of KBF and leads the Corporate Tax Services practice.
Jeff’s practice focuses on complete or partial tax department outsourcing for corporations. Services offerings include income tax accounting (aka “ASC 740”) assistance and review; income tax return preparation and review; federal, state, and international tax planning; and day-to-day consulting. Jeff provides full or partial outsourced tax department services to several hundred public, venture-backed, and private equity portfolio companies. The companies KBF serves range in size from multi–billion dollar organizations with established internal tax departments to start–up ventures with no internal income tax expertise.
Prior to joining the firm, Jeff was a Principal with Ernst & Young LLP in San Diego where he served as the lead tax service coordinator for many of the area’s prominent companies, including numerous SEC registrants. Jeff also served as a member of the firm’s Accounting For Income Tax technical support network and was a lead instructor for the firm’s Accounting for Income Tax and Sarbanes Oxley 404 for Income Tax training programs and seminars.
Jeff began his career in Silicon Valley with Arthur Andersen and Price Waterhouse. Jeff left Northern California after he was recruited by Ernst & Young to head their tax practice in Reno, Nevada. After three years in Reno, Jeff relocated to Ernst & Young’s San Diego Office. Jeff graduated Cum Laude from Marquette University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting.
